Has your child ever wanted to try the fiddle or violin? In this five-day introductory camp, students will explore beginning fiddle and violin basics through folk music. Students will learn how to hold the instrument, use the bow, and play a few simple rhythms and melodies in a fun group setting. Students will also be introduced to several fiddle styles, from Irish to hip-hop, and get to meet a few cousins from the folk Strings family along the way. (Singing will also be encouraged, but not required!) We will end the week with a “jam circle” style review of the music we’ve learned.
